Leon McQuay III of the Class of 2013 has had the Trojans in the mix for a while now, especially following his Labor Day weekend unofficial visit to USC to take in the Hawai’i game. Monday night, USC’s top brass including Lane Kiffin, Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron, visted the safety in his Tampa, Florida home.
Per Gerard Martinez of USCFootball.com, the visit is an attempt at closing the deal on an official visit to Troy this week, and judging my McQuay’s father, Leon Jr., the visit was energetic:
Monte, lane ,and coach O did a home visit today was very surprised to see Monte guy moves around really well full of energy.

In addition to USC coaches, the McQuays hosted Michigan early on Monday afternoon, and will host Florida State and Oregon coaches on Tuesday.
USC hosted several commits and targets this past weekend and was hoping for McQuay III to join the group, but he instead opted to hold off, which actually could benefit the Trojans.
McQuay III intends to announce his college decision on January 5th at the Under Armour All-American Game across the bay in St. Petersberg, and because he has already visited Vanderbilt, Oregon, Florida State and Michigan, the Trojans would have his last official visit.
The 6-foot-2 safety is a musician and intends to major in music in college, and would meet with Thornton School of Music counselors on his visit over the weekend, as he plans to be an early enrollee. The spring semester at USC begins on September 14th, just nine days after his decision is set to take place on ESPN.
