ESPN's College Gameday is Coming to the USC vs. Notre Dame Game

The greatest college football show on television, ESPN’s College Gameday, is coming to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum next week for the USC vs. Notre Dame game. Despite the Trojans losing a heart breaker to UCLA on Saturday, losses by Kansas State and Oregon mean that Notre Dame is the new No. 1 team, and the last of the BCS-eligible unbeatens.

This will be College Gameday’s ninth trip to USC, with the last being for last year’s Stanford game than wound up going three overtimes. The Trojans are 6-2 when Gameday comes to the Coliseum, though they have a two-game losing streak, with a 2010 loss to Oregon factored in. For context, Gameday has taken in the famed USC-Notre Dame rivalry four times previously, with the Trojans going 3-1 in those games, the last being in 2006.

Overall, this will be USC’s 21st appearance as a home or visitor, including bowl game editions done on-site at the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl.

While the ESPN crew opted to cover Notre Dame’s potential BCS Championship Game clinching berth, they passed up the UCLA-Stanford game, which will pit two two-loss Pac-12 teams that lead their respective divisions.

In anticipation of the USC-Notre Dame game, ESPN filmed promos on the USC campus last Sunday.
