…the defensive line asserts themselves. One of the disappointing aspects of the defensive performance against Oregon was how ineffective the Trojan d-line played. They got pushed around and neutralized by the Oregon front. Despite managing three sacks, it was an underwhelming performance.

Arizona State’s Taylor Kelly is a very effective quarterback. His QB rating on the season is behind just Barkley and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota. He’s also a capable runner. Not only will the line need to pressure him into bad throws, but they’ll have to keep contain and prevent him from taking off when the pass isn’t there. The line will also be the first line of defense against the Sun Devil’s duo of DJ Foster and Cameron Marshall. If football games truly are won in the trenches then the Trojan defensive line must make more of an impact.
