The United States has spoken, and President Barack Obama will serve four more years in the White House.
Going into Tuesday evening it was predicted that the election would be close, but by 8:15, CNN and other news sources began to call the race in favor of Obama. Later Tuesday night, Obama held 303 Electoral College votes to Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s 206, even without Florida’s tally.
Many of USC’s current Trojans got to vote in their very first election, and took to Twitter to discuss this monumental moment in their lives. Regardless of party affiliation, the young Trojans–and even some older ones–took pride in their participation in democracy:
Proud to say #iVoted. Get out there and do the same!
