BCS Rankings Released: Alabama and Florida Remain on Top, USC is 9th

The newest version of the BCS Rankings has been released, and the top two teams remain the same, with Alabama and Florida perched at No. 1 and No. 2.

The biggest story of the rankings this week has to be Oregon’s drop from third last week to fourth this week, despite routing Arizona State on Thursday night, as the computers are putting the Ducks at sixth overall. Oregon’s yet to have a marquee victory, but following a home date with Colorado this upcoming Saturday, the Ducks get USC, Stanford, Cal and Oregon State, with two road games against Top 10 teams.

Kansas State is the biggest winner of the week, leap-frogging Oregon after their big victory in Morgantown over West Virginia. The Wildcats have arguably the two most impressive wins in college football this season, with wins over Oklahoma and West Virginia, both on the road.

The USC Trojans moved up a spot from a week ago and remain the third highest ranked one-loss team following a blowout victory over Colorado. Troy is 16th according to the computers and only Richard Billingsley’s ratings has the Trojans in the top 10, though the top and bottom computer rankings are thrown out.

Oklahoma is in the same boat the Trojans just one spot ahead at eighth, but they’ll host the fifth ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish this week in Norman, in what could very well be a national title elimination game.
