USC running back Silas Redd has had a tumultuous last three months, since first verbalizing his interest in departing Penn State. During his decision process back in July, Redd quit Twitter as he was being bamboozled by fans about his decision, getting both hateful tweets and messages of encouragement.
Today, Redd returned to twitter under a new moniker, @Coast2CoastSi, using both a football analogy and a tip of the hat to his east coast roots while playing in Los Angeles. Redd’s first tweet was his testing of the water of sorts, and it should be intersting to see how he much interaction he receives from fans of both USC and Penn State.
back like I never left!

If you think Redd is shunning Penn State however, that’s entirely not the case. Of the 27 twitter users that Redd follows at time of publishing this piece, three are current Penn State players, one is Penn State transfer Rob Bolden, and there’s not a single follow of a USC teammate.
Since joining the Trojans, Redd has become a big part of the USC offense and has been arguably the team’s most valuable player on offense. He’s eclipsed the 100-yard mark in three games and his two monster performances against Cal and Washington have carried the Trojans’ offense.
Redd is on pace for another 1,000-yard season and is current fifth in the conference in rushing yards with 570, while his six touchdowns tie him for third in the Pac-12.
