Recruiting: Friday Night Lights Roundup of USC Commits

Friday night was a big night for USC football recruiting, despite the fact that most of the Trojans’ media were at game without USC commits, Narbonne’s 22-9 victory over Serra. As for the commits, here’s what’s notable:

Justin Davis: St. Mary’s, who played Michael Hutchings and De La Salle last week, beat up on Davis and Lincoln on Friday, winning 51-18. Individually, Davis had a stellar night, rushing for 206 yards on 27 carries, including a 20-yard touchdown run. [Recordnet]

Sebastian LaRue: Santa Monica had another poor performance on Friday night, as the Vikings fell to Valencia, 41-13. According to Roger Morante of the Santa Monica Mirror, LaRue appeared to be ‘mentally exhausted’ in the game, though he totaled four catches for 41 yards and two touchdowns, one of which came on the ground. Steven Mitchell: Alemany took Dorsey to the woodshed, as Mitchell had two touchdown catches and totaled 89 receiving yards in a 45-0 win over Keyshawn Johnson’s alma mater. [Daily News]

Chris Hawkins: Rancho Cucamonga pushed their record to 4-0 with a win over Riverside North, and Hawkins starred as a receiver, catching three passes for 27 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown catch in the first half. [Daily Bulletin]

Ty Isaac: In what is probably the most discouraging news for the Trojans, Isaac re-injured his shoulder, which caused him to miss all of the second half of Joliet Catholic’s 27-24 loss to Marist. Isaac finished the game with 8 yards on four carries, but had two touchdown receptions and 106 receiving yards. [Chicago Tribune]

Max Redfield: Mission Viejo roared out to an early lead on Aliso Niguel, and Redfield was in the mix, with a first half pick six. [OC Varsity]

Jason Hatcher: Lousiville Trinity traveled to Indianapolis to take on Cathedral at Lucas Oil Stadium on ESPN2. Hatcher’s squad got the win, 24-17. [Courier-Journal]

Eddie Vanderdoes: Placer won 42-33 over Yuba City, and the big defensive lineman wrangled in 2.5 sacks in the win. [@Trenise_RoT]
