The USC Trojans resumed Saturday’s edition of fall camp when they reconvened at Howard Jones for the afternoon session around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Nothing major happened from the morning practice to the afternoon one, but still some tidbits worth noting came about. Kiffin however did note that having only 75 guys is starting to show its toll on the team.
Here are the noteworthy moments from Saturday afternoon:
Kiffin was asked again about the USA Today Coaches’ Poll situation, to which he said he “has not lost any sleep” over it.
Juco-transfer Morgan Breslin’s had the play of the afternoon when he picked off Max Wittek and took it to the house. This pick-6 ended was the last play of practice.
C Khaled Holmes practiced, after missing a few sessions for a minor injury. LT Aundrey Walker again did not suit up in pads, and WR George Farmer practiced with the rehab group, in what is known as “Muscle Beach”. Robert Woods got the afternoon off.
Max Tuerk, an incoming freshman, ran with the 1st team at left tackle in the absence of Walker.
Lamar Dawson didn’t come out for the afternoon session because, according to Kiffin, he strained his calf yesterday. Hayes Pullard practiced in his place and Kiffin in still really liking his progress.
Wittek is saying he up to 245 pounds. He originally came in at 210 in January.
Fall Camp picks up again Sunday, with only one practice, set for 3:15 p.m.
