Contrary to reports stemming from late last week, Penn State running back Silas Redd will not make his decision today about transferring to USC, nor will teammate Khairi Fortt, who is considering other Pac-12 schools. The report comes from Dave Ruden of the Samford Advocate, a local publication serving Redd’s hometown in Norwalk, Connecticut.
BREAKING: There will be no announcements by Silas Redd & Khairi Fortt today. I’ve spoken to people close to both players. #PennState

News of Redd’s delay in deciding on USC comes immediately following a weekend trip to Los Angeles this past weekend, where he met with players and coaches about the prospects of playing his final two college seasons with the Trojans.
Word of how the visit to USC went has yet to come out, although The School Philly, a student-oriented Penn State themed blog has cited sources close to coaches that say they he’s staying in State College to complete his college career.
Redd first was linked to the Trojans last Monday, and has since skipped Big Ten Media Day, met with Lane Kiffin, been rumored by Petros Papadakis to have committed to USC, had his father debunk the rumor, traveled to Los Angeles, visited with the Trojans, and then had his people talk to Dave Ruden about not reaching a decision yet.
UPDATE: Late Monday morning, ESPN’s Joe Schad tweeted an interesting nugget about the Redd situation:
Silas Redd arrived in California Saturday. He is still there. The visit is – still – going well.

Interpret that as you will.
Additionally, other sources are saying that Redd has yet to make an announcement because his transcripts are still being reviewed by USC.
