According to ESPNLA.com, USC center Khaled Holmes was named to the Rimington award watch list,an award given to the nation’s top center. The award is named for former Nebraska center Dave Rimington.

Holmes is going into his second year as the starting center for SC, having started at right tackle in 2010. He was one of the pivotal factors in Matt Barkley being allowed to flourish during the 2011 season. Holmes completed his undergraduate degree in May 2012 and is now pursuing a master’s degree in communication management from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Holmes joins fellow Trojan T.J. McDonald as the second member of USC’s squad to be named to an award watch list. Earlier this spring McDonald was named to the Lott Impact Trophy watch list, named for USC great Ronnie Lott and given to the nation’s top defensive back.
