The Trojans took one step further to having a top recruiting class this evening, as Class of 2013 running back Justin Davis, the 37th ranked player in the FanSided 150.
Davis, out of Stockton, brings another quick back to Troy, as his upright, long strided running style makes him a dangerous player in the USC backfield. He joins Ty Isaac as the second highly touted back to commit to USC this week, as the Trojans continue to make offense a priority for the Class of 2013.
The Trojans need depth at the back position and that is a good recruiting tool for landing these top backs. Isaac and Davis both were excited by the prospect that Kiffin splits the carries, uses multiple backs, and the tradition of solid runners from USC to the NFL.
With Davis and assuming his signs in February, the Trojans will have five backs on scholarship in 2013, with D.J. Morgan, Tre Madden, Buck Allen and Ty Isaac.
Overall, the Trojans have seven commits now in 2013, with five in the FanSided 150, and all seven having a four star rating. Adding Davis helps USC become one of the top classes in the country and on pace to become the best. They currently are the top in the Pac-12.
