This season, USC will begin serving the last leg of its devastating NCAA sanctions, and this one is thought to have the most damaging long term effects. Starting with this 2013 recruiting class, ‘SC is only allowed to sign 10 guys per class, down from the usual 25. As a result, USC will probably continue to have serious depth issues, but if the Trojans play their cards right, they could still land a solid class.
As if now, it seems like they are already taking serious measures to do so.
Tuesday morning, ESPN revealed is class of 2013 Top 150 recruits, and all four of USC’s current verbal commits are listed amongst the rankings. In order, they are: No. 10 DT Kenny Bigelow (Elkton, MD), No. 13 QB Max Browne (Sammamish, WA), No. 69 CB Chris Hawkins (Rancho Cucamonga, CA), and No. 90 DE Kylie Fitts (Redlands, CA).
These four are already a good look for the future of the program, as the DT, DE and CB positions will be in short supply after this season. With just six coveted scholarships left, it will be interesting to see if Lane Kiffin and his arsenal of recruiters can once again land a top recruiting class with 15 less players than every other team.
