Max Browne. No, it’s not the name of an action movie, but give it a couple of years and the name just may be going Hollywood. Browne is the top quarterback in the recruiting class of 2013, and according to the talent evaluators at Rivals, the only 5-Star quarterback in the country. He’s set to make his college decision this evening at 7pm in his hometown of Sammamish, Washington, and according to sources including Greg Biggins of Scout, he’ll likely be putting on a Cardinal & Gold cap.

In his junior season, Browne piled up accolades while completeing 70 percent of passes and throwing 45 touchdowns at Skyline High School in Washington. He is an athletic quarterback, which at USC, would draw comparisons to Aaron Corp. Unlike Corp however, Browne is a very polished quarterback coming out of high school.
At the 45 second mark of the highlight video below, Browne makes multiple defenders miss by juking and turning a would-be sack into a first down. That kind of athletiscm really hasn’t been seen at USC since Rodney Peete was under center in the late 80’s, even though Mark Sanchez showed instances of mobility back in 2008.
Should Browne commit to USC, he could be in a fight with Cody Kessler and Max Wittek to replace Matt Barkley next fall, but the likely scenario would see Browne redshirt as a freshman and become the heir apparent to Kessler or Wittek.
Here’s some of his highlights as a junior at Skyline:
