The USC Trojans have offered a scholarship to one of the Texas Longhorns‘ local targets, Torrodney Prevot, a 3-star defensive end out of Houston. Prevot tweeted out the news to prove it, and has seen his recruiting start to really take off of late.

The news comes just two days after Prevot won the MVP award at the Nike Football Training Camp in Dallas, where Prevot opened up a lot of eyes. Prevot’s ferocity on the defensive line comes as a unique package for the college game when mixed with his slender frame, something William Wilkerson of Horns Nation profiled on Monday.
One instance when Prevot used his hands to his advantage came in the showdown of all showdowns at the end of camp. Up until that point, Prevot had hardly broken a sweat trying to get by offensive tackles and to a blue tackling dummy that replicated the quarterback.
If Prevot wants to keep playing at high level at school like USC or Texas, he’ll need to improve on his size, as he’s just 220 pounds when comes off the edge.
Rivals has Prevot listed as the 11th best defensive end in the country, despite being nationally unranked. Should he continue rack of awards in camps as he fills out his size, he should be able to climb in recruiting lists.
