After lost three straight last week, including two to highly ranked North Carolina, the Trojans appear to be back on track as they swept Cal State Bakersfield over the weekend. The highlight of the weekend for the Men of Troy was Saturday, when SC chipped away the Roadrunners’ lead in the late innings and scored two in the ninth to seal a 9-8 victory on Adam Lindeacker’s walk-off single. After a 6-0 win on Sunday, the Trojans moved to 12-3 on the season and have won five in a row. The Trojans were left out of the latest Baseball America Top 25, but six of the 11 Pac-12 teams are ranked, including No. 9 UCLA, whom the Trojans face Tuesday at Dodger Stadium in the Dodgertown Classic.
- USC’s Women’s Swimming and Diving Team is on their way to the NCAA Championships this week, hosted by Auburn. The Women of Troy are ranked 7th in the nation and are looking to improve on a third place finish from a season ago. Led by a handful of All-Americans and three time conference diver of the year, Victoria Ishimatsu, the Trojans were 5-2 in the Pac-12, which was good for third.
- USC Track and Field is alive and well, as the Trojans won eight events, including Dalilah Muhammad’s wins in the 100m and 400m hurdles on Saturday, at Fullerton’s Ben Brown Invitational on Saturday. The Men are currently tied for 12th in the NCAA Rankings, while the Women are ranked 6th in the country.
