USC Recruit Racks Up Honors

After finishing last in the Pac-10 in 2010, USC baseball is looking for some optimism heading into next season. Help could be on the way as the talented shortstop James Roberts (Archbishop Mitty; San Jose, CA) will be on the roster next year. Today, he was named to the San Jose Mercury News’s All Central Coast Section First Team. Here is the description from the print version of the paper.

James Roberts, Archbishop Mitty

Senior | Shortstop

Roberts hit .411 with 11 doubles, three home runs, 39 runs scored and 19 RBIs. He also had an on-base percentage of .540 to earn [West Catholic Athletic League] Player of the Year honors. The USC-bound senior also was 2-0 and had three saves in nine pitching appearances.

Perhaps Roberts can come in and have an instant impact for the Men of Troy. His numbers in high school provide a reason for hope.
